GM06 DWG to PDF with visible Text

This lesson builds on GM 04 that runs through the import of a DWG and the Export of a PDF.

Now we want to be able to select the Text only, so split that onto it's own layer.  Right click the layer in the Control Center and find the SPLIT.

Now all the text is in one sub layer and all the lines are in another.

Right click on the text and select all the features (text) on the Text Layer.

Click on the FONT and choose your font and desired size.

I found better success using the File -> Export -> Export PDF File

  • Legibility may be a concern as the text is over a bunch of other stuff.  There is a background fill mode in the FONT that I did not play with.  (Think TEXTMASK).
  • I had issues with some massive custom PDF sizes.
  • Not sure if two PDFs can be merged into one...  that'd be a good one for another day.
