OZZI DOG PARK
Project status: Conceptual
A group of volunteers are looking to create a dog park in Chatham. The current plan is an extension of Volunteer Park in West Chatham. The plan includes the following:
Add more parking to Volunteer Park. The current parking is not sufficient for all vehicles at peak times.
Add an access to the proposed dog park with handicapped parking.
Construct a walking trail around the park similar to the proposal recently made by the Board of Health for Volunteer Park.
Construct fenced in areas for a dog park.
Review the species of trees and remove those in accordance with a plan designed by Wilkinson Ecological Design.
Add signage, rules and other essential details.
Create a means for the dog park to be self sufficient and not be maintained by Parks & Recreation.
Have the same hours and rules as parks under the supervision of Parks & Recreation.
Ensure a buffer of at least 100' to all nearby properties.
