The applicant has decided to use valet parking services to address the question of parking for the Inn, Restaurant and Wine Bar.
The applicant has a valid agreement with Chatham Valet, Inc. for valet parking services. The agreement has been extended to provide shuttling services for employees to and from any location in Chatham.
Based on the numbers reported to the Selectmen, the Town Parking Lot had a peak daytime capacity of 45 /120 spaces and a peak evening capacity of 24 / 120 spaces.
Given the underutilization of the Town Parking Lot over the past summer, the use of two spaces for employees is not expected to have a negative impact.
The manager of the Chatham Valet, Inc. has contact information for every employee at the Inn and is able to contact them before their shift if the Town Parking Lot and the Applicant’s Parking Area are approaching capacity. If the employee does not have another location to park, they will be directed to use the Middle School Parking Lot on Crowell Road, which is the most underutilized parking lot in the Town.
